2nd Annual Hope for Orphans 5k Run/Walk

The Hope for Orphans 5k Run/Walk raises funds to sponsors older orphans from the Philippines for the Summer of Hope—a four week visit to the U.S. where these children can meet American families who often end up adopting, mentoring or staying connected with them for life.

How to Participate:

The registration fee is $25 per person or $70 per family of 3 or more. Family registration is available only through the printable application form or at on-site registration on June 7th at Julia Davis Park.

Course:

A 5K Run/Walk beginning at Julia Davis Park Shelter #1, just east of Zoo Boise. Run or walk along the Boise River Greenbelt beginning at the east end of the Zoo heading west to Riverside Park. As you make your way back to the Bob Gibb Friendship Footbridge look forward to the Celebration that follows at Shelter #1 of Julia Davis Park.

Event Details:

• This is a timed event and all results will be posted at http://summerofhope.org and after the event. All ages are encouraged to attend and all children under 18 will receive an award!
• Registration includes: a heavy-weight 100% preshrunk cotton t-shirt, water stop, the post event celebration with a live band, and free picnic lunch.
• Advance Packet Pick-up for runners and walkers is recommended. Packets are available at:

  Pick-up is Wednesday, June 4th, and Thursday, June 5th, from 4-8:00 pm.
• Late Packet Pick-up is 9:00 am on event day before the race.
• For the safety of those involved, please, no inline skates, bikes, or dogs. Strollers and wheelchairs are always welcomed.
• Celebration immediately following the run includes:
  • Free picnic lunch
  • Live band
  • Silent auction
  • Children's carnival
  • Clowns and face painting
  • Filipino entertainment with music and dance
