Be a Champion of Hope for Children Without Families

Millions of children around the world are growing up in orphanages and foster care. Many lose hope as they wait for families that never come. Every child needs a connected caring relationship with a stable adult to grow and thrive.

In the last six years 66 children have found permanent families through this same program in Montana and Idaho and more than 2,000 have found hope through similar national programs.

What is the Summer of Hope?

The Summer of Hope program brings school-age orphans from the Philippines to the U.S. for the month of July to experience family life, fun, love, and hope for their future.

The organization helps these children meet American families who often end up adopting, mentoring, or staying connected to them for life. Without such a program, the orphans often leave their orphanages when they turn sixteen and must fend for themselves on the streets.

The Summer of Hope is administered by The Sacred Portion Children's OutreachhOpens in new Window, recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

What is the Hope for Orphans 5k Run/Walk?

A family-friendly fundraising event, immediately followed by a celebration picnic, including a silent auction, children's carnival, Christian band, and Filipino entertainment. Funds raised through the Run/Walk. pay for the orphans' traveling expenses for their summer visit, as well as the travel expenses of required Filipino social workers who accompany the children for safety, accountability, and translation purposes. Donated funds may also be used for the interest-free Summer of Hope Adoption Assistance Loan Program to help families pay for some of the adoption costs. These loans are to be repaid and used to bring more orphans for summer visits.
