Business sponsorships needed to cover travel expenses for orphans coming from the Philippines for the 2008 Summer of Hope program in Boise, Idaho.
April 2008—The Summer of Hope is a unique charity that both projects a positive image to the international community and meets the pressing needs of children. The program brings older orphans from the Philippines for a 4 week visit to the U.S. where they can meet American families who often end up adopting, mentoring or staying connected with them for life.
In the last six years 66 of these children have found permanent families through Summer of Hope in Montana and Idaho and more than 2,000 have found families through similar national programs.
Without intervention, the older orphans in the Philippines have little hope of a normal adult life. Statistically most end up in a life of poverty and crime. Research has shown that a connected, caring relationship with an adult is the most important factor in preventing a child from leading a life of violence, and helping that child become a productive member of society.
Businesses of any size are invited to help support this program. In addition to expressing goodwill from the United States and helping save children's lives, business supporters will benefit from publicity and exposure of the summerofhope.org web site and other media channels. Summer of Hope's current corporate supporters range from small to large businesses. Donations from corporate sponsors in the Treasure Valley stay with the Boise Summer of Hope program.
